![]() ![]() dll (like atioglxx.dll) to the executable folder to make the program use it? Are there alternative renders available (Wolfenstein was idtech4 and apparently supports directx 9, but i can't seem to find a doom3 counterpart)? I'm afraid messing around with older drivers might break or result in performance loss with many more recent games (mobility cards and drivers aren't the best of friends), so I haven't installed any yet. I haven't been able to test other idtech4 games, since i don't have any (except for prey, but i don't have the disks here).ĭoes anyone have a suggestion to fix this problem? Did Doom3 ever perform well on ati cards? Are there any older drivers that do perform well and if so, can I just copy a. (Rage runs pretty good btw, perfectly playable) If I had to guess why I'd say it's because of the Rage fixes implemented in the opengl render last year, but i really haven't a clue. Generally, all other (directx) games run as they are supposed to (Arkham city is perfectly playable with stock settings, even serious sam 3 runs pretty good at medium settings). Even AAx4 and vsync don't make the game dip under 60. Changing settings like the texture quality or resolution doesn't make a difference even with the Wulfen texture pack I get 60 fps constantly except when particles are rendered. ![]() ![]() The game runs at the 60 fps frame limit constantly, except when particles are rendered (=> smoke, imp fireballs.). I have recently reinstalled Doom3 (cd version, patch 1.3.1 if it matters), but the performance on my hd 5145 mobility isn't quite what i expected. ![]()
